Libraries are no longer the quiet spaces where noise is discouraged. The libraries of today are meant to be places where learning and discovery happen. There should be areas that allow for both quiet and creativity. By providing comfortable seating, students are able to relax and collaborate on assignments. It is also important to keep in mind that not everyone is comfortable with noise, so adding a quiet area such as one enclosed in glass or surrounded by bookcases would provide an area free of distractions for those students.
